Last weekend, while picking up my dog’s poop in my very hilly and uneven back yard, I had an epiphany—a moment of clarity and awareness. I thought, “You know, some day, someone is going to find you face down in poop in the back yard because you fell and couldn’t get up.”
In that moment I realized that it’s time to sell my house and move into a community where I will be safe. I do not take this decision lightly. During the COVID years, I spent a lot of time and money crafting a space and a backyard where I loved to be. Now I’m deciding to leave it.
My diminished mobility is dictating this decision. Aging is a difficult process to endure. But as they say, it’s better than the alternative.
The time is now—before the colors of spring change my mind.
I want you, dear reader, to know why my posts will be less often while I go through this transition. I hope to be settled in a new home by the end of March.
I look forward to reconnecting more regularly at that time.
Happy Holidays to all.
Thank you for reading!
